The Hyundai Seoul Guide (2026) — K-Food Hall, K-Beauty, ETF Bakery and Same-Day Luggage Delivery
Last updated: · Also in: 日本語繁體中文简体中文
The Hyundai Seoul (더현대 서울) in Yeouido is a department store you visit for the building as much as the shopping: a glass roof over a five-storey indoor garden, a huge B1 food hall called "Tasty Seoul", K-beauty and young Korean brands on B2 — and on B2, ETF Bakery, the bakery famous for 990-won salt bread that started as a pop-up with economics YouTuber Shuka. Foreign visitors can store luggage for free and, since October 2026, send shopping bags and suitcases the same day to Incheon or Gimpo Airport or to their hotel.

K-Food: eat your way through B1 "Tasty Seoul"
K-FOOD signage in the store (November 2026)
B1 is one of Seoul's largest department-store food halls: Korean snacks, desserts, bakeries and a food-truck-style seating area. It is an easy place to try several Korean dishes in one stop, and good for take-home food gifts. Popular counters have lines at lunch — go before noon or after 2 p.m.
If you want sit-down Korean meals afterwards, see our guides to Korean stews and naengmyeon and tteokbokki.
K-Beauty: trending products in one place
"K-Beauty" and "Trending" shelves (November 2026)
Luxury cosmetics are on 1F, while B2 mixes younger Korean beauty brands with fashion. On our visit, shelves labelled "K-Beauty" and "Trending" grouped serums, sheet masks and patches that are popular right now — handy if you don't know where to start. For outlet-style bargains, compare with Myeongdong's Olive Young and beauty outlets.
ETF Bakery — the "cheap bread" bakery started with YouTuber Shuka
Baguettes at ETF Bakery, The Hyundai Seoul B2 (November 2026)
ETF Bakery (ETF 베이커리) became famous in Korea for selling salt bread (소금빵, a buttery roll) for just 990 won. It began in August 2025 as a pop-up in Seongsu, planned by economics YouTuber Shuka (슈카월드) and the space-branding company Glow Seoul, at roughly a third of usual bakery prices. The pop-up closed after eight days amid debate with local bakers about prices. A permanent store opened near Anguk Station in December 2025 with salt bread at 1,190 won; it is now run by Glow Seoul alone, and Shuka is not involved in the permanent stores.
- The Hyundai Seoul branch: B2, opened April 23, 2026 (announced on ETF Bakery's official account).
- What to buy: salt bread, baguettes, bagels, milk bread and cream buns; cakes are also sold. At the Anguk store, no bread was over 4,000 won in January 2026 (Hankyung).
- Prices differ by store. A notice in the shop says 45% of total costs go to ingredients and that prices vary between branches because of different store costs.
- Tip: Salt bread sells out fast. Go soon after opening, and expect a line on weekends.
