Famous Cafés in Seoul (and Beyond) — Onion, Daelim Changgo, Anthracite, London Bagel Museum, Layered and Terarosa
Last updated: · Also in: 日本語繁體中文简体中文
Korea's café scene is a destination in itself: converted factories and warehouses in Seongsu (Onion, Daelim Changgo), a café in a traditional hanok in Anguk, Anthracite's old shoe factory in Hapjeong, bakery cafés with hour-long lines like London Bagel Museum and Layered, and specialty coffee pioneer Terarosa in Gangneung. Go on a weekday morning to skip the longest waits.

Café tips for Korea
- Waitlists exist at cafés too. Bakery cafés often use a tablet at the door — register first (how waitlists work).
- One drink per person is the norm at many cafés.
- Pastries sell out. Famous bakery cafés are best before lunch.
- Seongsu + Seoul Forest and Anguk + Bukchon make easy half-day café walks.
Save the cafés you find on social media
Most café lists start on Instagram or TikTok. Instead of screenshotting, save each post with Snagly (iPhone) — tap Share → Save to Snagly, put it in a folder like "Seoul cafés", then open the café in Naver Map when you're nearby.
